National Youth Brain Injury Prevention Tour Speaks to Leander High School

Sarah Jane Brain Foundation In The News

CEDAR PARK, TX Over 200 Leander High School students participated in the Sarah Jane Brain Project’s sports-concussion presentations this morning. Dr. Janet Tyler, Ph.D. showed the project’s education multimedia presentation to the students.

One student asked “are there laws in Texas that require students sit out after a concussion?” Dawn Allen, Athletic Trainer at Leander High School answered that Texas does not yet have such legislation but that many groups in Texas are working to get legislation passed that would help educate all parties about sports-related concussions. The Sarah Jane Brain Project will be presenting at high schools throughout the United States from now through June. For more information please visit www.thebrainproject.org.
