National Youth Brain Injury Prevention Tour Gives Concussion Presentation to Mena High School

Sarah Jane Brain Foundation In The News

MENA, AR – Around eighty Mena High School students participated in the Sarah Jane Brain Project’s sports-concussion and youth brain injury presentation this morning. Dr. Janet Tyler, Ph.D. showed the project’s educational multimedia presentation to the students and answered their questions about concussions and brain injuries.

Following the presentation, Mena High School’s head football coach, Jeff Weaver, spoke to the Physical Education class. He said, “I wanted you to see this presentation today so you could see the situation you are in. You need to give us the information we need to take care of you, we can’t look at your brain and know right away what is going on so we rely on you telling us what you’re feeling.”

The Sarah Jane Brain Project will be presenting at high schools throughout the United States for the next five months. For more information please visit www.thebrainproject.org
